Is there any free legal aid available?

There are several options – the easiest way is to search "free legal aid" in the search engine, explore the direct links to websites and find the one that suits you best.

Can I apply for a reduction in the procedural expenses or for any other form of free assistance?

A request for procedural assistance must be submitted to court. The request should be submitted to the court where the proceedings for which procedural assistance is requested are being, or are supposed to be, held.

The request must be accompanied by a signed statement on the personal and financial situation of the person requesting, and of their family members (family relations, profession, assets, income and obligations), and, if possible, by other documents proving such situation.

What is expedited procedure in matters of payment order?

The expedited procedure in matters of payment order allows the creditor to obtain an enforcement instrument, i.e. a payment order, faster than in an action, with less burden of proof and for lower costs.

A case can be initiated, i.e. a petition for application of expedited procedure in matters of payment order can be submitted to court only electronically, in the E-file system.

The body processing the petition is the Payment Orders Department of Pärnu County Court, located in the Haapsalu Courthouse of Pärnu County Court:
